Beidh Seachtain na Gaeilge ar siúl ar fud na tíre ón 1ú go 17ú Márta. Seachtain na Gaeilge will be taking place all over the country from the 1st-17th of March.

Seachtain na Gaeilge is an international festival to celebrate Irish language and culture. Each year, we have lots of activities organised throughout the school to celebrate this event. This year will be no different despite celebrations taking place on a slightly smaller scale than usual. This year activities will be celebrated at an individual class level.

Although we are unable to hold whole school events this year we are asking the whole school community , where possible, to get into the spirit of the celebrations on Tuesday 16th by participating in 'Lá Glas' / 'Green Day'. On Tuesday the 16th, we are asking your child to incorporate the colour green into their outfit if possible e.g. they may like to wear a green t-shirt/jumper/ fleece/ scarf/skirt/ socks/ hairband etc….. Please note there are no additional props allowed on the day such as flags/ banners/ large hats etc. Also, we do not expect your child's entire outfit to be green on this occasion, one small element of green will be more than enough. Similarly, there is no expectation on every child to have to wear green on the day. We hope that you will embrace the sense of fun and celebration as we celebrate our Irish traditions and culture. If you have any further questions, please contact your class teacher.
