Christmas Message from the Principal

A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chairde,

Ba mhaith le múinteoirí agus foireann uillig i Bunscoil na Salíseach ár mbuíochas a ghabháil díbh ar fad as ucht an cabhair agus an tacaíocht a fuaireamar uaibh ó thús na scoil bliana go dtí an lá inniu. Tá atmaisféar álainn in ár scoil agus tagann sin ó chomhoibriú idir an scoil, na tuismitheoirí agus gan dabht na páistí.*

I am truly blessed to be part of a school community that continues to be joyful and comfortable. There is a wonderful atmosphere between teachers, parents and pupils. All our pupils, your children, arrive at school incredibly happy and ready for learning and play. As a testament to both the co-operation of you, their parents, and the dedication of our staff, they continue to demonstrate amazing strength and resilience.

My teaching colleagues' efforts ensure that our curriculum is being taught to an excellent standard thus enabling our pupils to progress to the best of their abilities. Our SNAs support normality for their pupils in their usual professional, caring manner. Our Administrator, Ger Rea along with our caretaker Eoin O' Brien are the heartbeat of our school. Lorraine and Trish, our cleaners, continue to play a huge part in keeping our school ready for teaching and learning. Please know that the Salesian Team of staff prefer to be at school rather than to be engaged in remote teaching and learning. The pre-Christmas sending home of resources is a precaution rather than an expectation.

I sincerely thank everyone who volunteers their support, resources and time to benefit our school community and Parish. These silent heros include the Board of Management, the Parents Association, Salesian Sisters, Fr McAuliffe, and Fr Ryan.

Christmas is an incredibly special time as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. It also allows us to spend time with our families and loved ones in person or virtually. While Christmas may also remind us of those who we have loved and lost, we also get to celebrate our good fortune that those very people were active in our lives. Their love and positive influences are ever lasting. We hope that the New Year brings hope to all and relief to any who are ill or struggling.

My wish is that in-person education can be safely continued in Salesian PS in the New Year. Therefore as Salesian PS ' Principal, I am reminding parents, staff, families, and pupils to comply with NPHET Guidelines during the Christmas Holidays.

Nollaig Shona agus Athbhliain faoi Mhaise daoibh go léir ó fhoireann na scoile**.

Enjoy a lovely Christmas holiday and we look forward to being together again on the 6th of January 2022.

Claire Rea (Principal)
