Spring is finally in the air. The days are stretching, nature is coming alive again and happily the weather is beginning to warm up. It is the perfect time for us all to dust ourselves off and begin everything from a fresh perspective. Nature is literally 'turning a new leaf'. Spring is an opportunity for us all to do the same.
As a Christian-Catholic school, with spring comes the celebration of Easter. The joy of the miracle of the Resurrection of Christ after He had been dead and buried. With His sacrifice, He brought us the promise of new life both on Earth and in Heaven. In this spring season of rebirth, may you feel your faith renewed and your heart made new with the hope Easter brings.
All at Salesian PS wish you a very happy, joyful and Holy Easter break. We look forward to seeing you on our return to school on Monday the 17th of April.
Ms. Rea
Principal

2023-2024:
First Day of School for pupils: 1st of September 2023.
In recognition of the cost of preparing children and young people for the return to primary school each September Minister for Education Norma Foley T.D. has announced funding to provide free schoolbooks, including workbooks and copybooks, in so far as the funding allows from September 2023. This scheme will eliminate the majority of the cost to parents of providing these resources.
Funding is being provided directly to primary schools and special schools by the Department to implement the scheme and schools will now have the responsibility for providing schoolbooks, workbooks, and where funding allows copybooks to all children and young people at the start of the school year. All schoolbooks will remain the property of the school so that books can be reused in future years. Schoolbooks will be provided on loan to children and young people for the duration of the 2023/24 school year and must be returned to school at the end of the school year. Parents are requested to remind their children to take care of their books and keep them in good condition during the year. It is not permitted to write in textbooks. There may be some related classroom resources and costs that are not covered by the scheme. Additional details (if any) on what items parents will need to supply for the return to school in September 2023 will be communicated to parents by the school in due course.
Thank you to all the parents and family helpers who allowed the running of the Cake Sale and the Senior Infant Maths' Games to be a great success this term.

Teddy Bear's Hospital
Our Junior Doctors from Senior Infants helped take care of their sick and injured teddies at the Teddy Bear's Hospital in March. From check-ups and x-rays to diagnosis and medicine dispensing, the teddies were well looked after. They even got to perform surgery on the very sick teddies! |
Student Council News
Our Student Council has been very busy this term. Many of our students have requested a water dispenser in our school. The children spoke and we listened. Student Voice is very important in our school. The Council prepared beautiful Easter Hampers for a raffle to begin fundraising towards this very worthy cause. Thank you to everyone for supporting this worthy cause. |
